Consumer Product Exposure Warning for residents of California:

Icon WARNING: Cancer and Reproductive Harm – www.P65Warnings.ca.gov

California Proposition 65 Information

The consumer products Speedwerx manufactures, sells, and distributes are often made from common steel, aluminum, and other metal alloys or plastics, and as such likely would not result in significant exposure to chemicals or materials that would be harmful under normal, intended usage or handling. Since these products may contain trace quantities of chemicals or materials that are subject to California's Proposition 65 regulations, we are providing this warning on our website and will be affixing a label with the same short-form consumer product exposure warning to the packaging of Speedwerx branded products manufactured after August 30, 2018 in order to provide a “clear and reasonable” exposure warning to consumers in the state of California as mandated and allowed by California law. These warnings are required because no Speedwerx branded products are being declared as below the “safe harbor level” for exposure to chemicals causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

In addition, some products being sold by Speedwerx come from other manufacturers and are sold under those manufacturer's brand names and in the original packaging from the manufacturer. Those products may have their own brand or product specific Proposition 65 warnings and consumers seeking additional information on such warnings should contact the manufacturer of the product directly.

Any dealer, distributor, or other retailer selling Speedwerx branded products online is also required by California law to provide the above short-form consumer product exposure warning wherever Speedwerx branded products appear on their website in order to inform consumers in the state of California prior to the purchase of any Speedwerx branded products. Anyone selling Speedwerx products online should go to www.p65warnings.ca.gov for more information on Proposition 65 to ensure they are in compliance with California law.

What is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65 requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.  These chemicals can be in the products that Californians purchase, in their homes or workplaces, or that are released into the environment. By requiring that this information be provided, Proposition 65 enables Californians to make informed decisions about their exposures to these chemicals.

Proposition 65 also prohibits California businesses from knowingly discharging significant amounts of listed chemicals into sources of drinking water.

Proposition 65 requires California to publish a list of chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. This list, which must be updated at least once a year, has grown to include approximately 900 chemicals since it was first published in 1987.
